Amber Wilson

Edition 6 - Method in the Madness share
Amber Wilson

Wilson employs a smorgasbord of different paint applications to celebrate the awkward, the dainty and the dumpy.

Amber Wilson's come one come all approach to her practice reveals her response to abstract modernist painting, embroidery, lace, antique maps and postcards, fairy-tale illustrations, picturesque landscape painting, woven textile patterns, Korean restaurant menus and ikebana.

This list is by no means extensive, yet it indicates how happily and without irony she mixes cultural highs and lows. This inclusive and explorative approach extends to her painting processes and individual aesthetic.

Amber Wilson is a painter living in Auckland currently undertaking a Masters by Project.
