Wāhine Connect understands the unique challenges that face wāhine in the New Zealand workforce. They use their collective resources to create a national community-led professional network, aiming to facilitate personal and professional career development with a focus on supporting women in health sector. By Women. For Women.
To demonstrate the evolution of Wāhine Connect progressing from a home-grown, community-run project to one that has national multi-professional reach, they approached us to reinvent their existing brand and update their website so it was more aligned with their growth and ambitions.
They wanted an identity that was flexible, versatile, contemporary and approachable, that could be used in a variety of ways (online/ in goal templates/ guiding documents/ social events/ banners/ letterheads and business cards), and gave instant understanding of their mission.
They also wanted something that was definitively ’New Zealand’, and was accessible and welcoming to women of all races and cultures across Aotearoa.
The end result was a unique brandmark which instantly connects to their core audience through the duality of symbolism (with the female icon) connecting to the letter ‘c’ in the word ‘connect'.
